This organization, comprised of men and women of all ages, supports the parish in service by maintaining the sacred furnishings and space of the church. For example, volunteers conduct a weekly cleaning of the sanctuary with special attention to preparations for Christmas and Easter. They help with weekly altar flowers, assist in the purchase of items for our liturgical celebrations such as vestments and accoutrements of the Mass. The Altar Society plans “field trip” outings to special destinations along the central coast and gathers on the third Thursday of each month (except the summer months of June and July) for Mass, a continental breakfast and to conduct their business meeting.
